The human body seeks to achieve and maintain a balance we might refer to as personal wellbeing. Disease and physical/psychological stressors disrupt this balance. For most and in many instances the body can restore this balance …….. but not always.
Whole Body Cryotherapy is a safe treatment that involves entering a large chamber that has been cooled to -110C for 2-3 minutes. Thermal shock activates, enhances and harnesses the body’s own adaptive healing mechanisms to combat inflammation, relieve pain, boost repair, accelerate recovery and promote restoration of personal wellbeing.
Whole Body Cryotherapy might be used following intense training & over-exertion, post surgery, with acute & chronic muscular-skeletal trauma, to assist with joint mobility, and manage symptoms of auto-immune disease, and endocrine dysfunction.
Dating back thousands of years, it has been anecdotally accepted that hypothermic applications such as ice, snow, or immersing oneself in frigid water reduces inflammation and pain as well as evoking a number of other positive health benefits. In modern times this process of cooling the body for therapeutic purposes has been relabelled “cryotherapy”. Whole body Cryotherapy is this process re-imagined, refined and now powered by cutting edge technology to make this treatment safe and accessible to all. Quick, non-invasive, no side-effects and built to suit the busy & time poor.
Whole Body Cryotherapy (being exposed to -110 C for 2-3 minutes) in reality only directly affects thermal skin receptors. Remaining in the chamber cools the skin to 5 C; but has no direct role in treating any specific physical or psychological condition. However this rapid drop in skin temperature activates the autonomic nervous system to regulate adaptation and survival. It is the excitation of these adaptive mechanisms including cardiovascular response and altered endocrine production & hormone molecular pathways that generates powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and positive immuno responses. It is these pathophysiological changes that are responsible for the wide ranging multi-systemic benefits ascribed to Whole Body Cryotherapy.
Our Whole Body Cryotherapy chamber has 3 internal chambers; each operating at 0 C, -60 C and -110 C designed to eliminate body moisture and assist acclimation to this cold environment. Customers remain in the -110 C chamber for 2-3 minutes. This chamber can accommodate up to four people at one time, so bring family members or friends to share your experience.
Unlike many other Cryotherapy units, we DO NOT use liquid nitrogen because of potential dangers. Instead cold dry air is generated by a cascading refrigeration system. There is minimal moisture or wind chill, and the experience is not painful like an ice bath .This permits customers to enjoy a true whole body cryotherapy experience with freedom of movement and maximum benefit. The chamber doors are incapable of locking, so if you feel uncomfortable, you can easily exit the chamber at any time. If you are intimidated about going alone, no worries, our friendly staff is always available to go in with you!
-110 to -130C
Cryotherapy increases norepinephrine. The capacity to increase and regulate this crucial hormone and neurotransmitter affords greater adaptation and recovery. Norepinephrine plays a key direct and indirect role in the moderation of inflammation. The future value around WBC, is linked to a growing recognition around the extent to which many illnesses and diseases are mediated by local and/or systemic inflammation.

Yes. If you have any type of inflammation, cryotherapy will prove to be beneficial for you!
Skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema benefit from the cooling effects of cryotherapy. The cool air soothes inflamed skin conditions by enhancing microcirculation in the dermis, stimulating an anti-inflammatory response, and dulling nerve activity.
Cryotherapy is a natural performance enhancer for athletes as it speeds up recovery time, helps muscle tissue repair faster and reduces swelling and inflammation. After a WBC session, oxygenated blood, which is richer in anti-inflammatory agents, is perfused back to injured areas enabling faster healing. Additionally, endorphins are released, decreasing the perception of pain and improving sleep quality.
WBC is not a weight loss treatment, despite what others may say. However as part of an ongoing weight-loss program focusing on nutrition and exercise, whole body cryotherapy can help you lose weight faster. It speeds up metabolism as it causes the blood to pump rapidly around the body to protect your organs from the cold, briefly increases caloric burn, generates a sense of greater energy, and can manage pain and inflammation that permits customers to better engage in healthy physical activity and exercise.
Cryotherapy has long term and short term effects. In terms of short term effects, there will be a noticeable reduction in pain and increased mobility to areas that were limited prior to treatment. There will also be reduced swelling in acute injuries and elevated energy levels. Consistent use of cryotherapy can extend these health benefits for greater lengths of time.
In terms of long term effects, cold exposure has been proven in several studies to improve mood and even be a viable option for the treatment of depression and other mood disorders. Regular cold exposure has also been shown to increase white blood cell count; assist with symptoms of rheumatic disease, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and restless legs syndrome; as well as increase other beneficial immuno-responses.
No. Treatment sessions should be no longer than 3 minutes.
It depends on the results you are trying to achieve. We generally recommend 2-3 treatments per week to see results. Many customers will feel great immediately after completing their first treatment. This is because of a release of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevator, and this lift in wellbeing can last for several hours. Depending on your physical condition, you may feel immediate relief from joint and muscle pain, improved energy and increased flexibility that can last for several hours or even days. However, for optimal benefits, need to undergo a series of 4-10 consecutive treatment sessions and then continue with weekly maintenance treatments.
While every WBC session is beneficial, we recommend our customers consider purchasing a 6 or 12 WBC session packages to receive maximum benefits. In some cases where customers present with significant and chronic conditions, we might recommend a maintenance program, and repeat a treatment package every three months and/or considering a longer subscription. Professional athletes will often have between 4-6 sessions per week to help achieve peak performance during intense training periods.
We recommend only doing a single WBC treatment per day. However customers with more significant debilitating conditions and/or time constraints can choose to have 2 WBC treatment sessions 4 hours apart during a single day; and WBC can be used in parallel with a range of other treatments during a single day to maximize effects and benefits.
Yes! We often recommend whole body cryotherapy as an add-on to other treatments we offer such as sonix vibration therapy; but also suggest it is used as an adjunct treatment with a range of physical therapies (physiotherapy, chiropractic therapy, sports medicine and rehabilitation activities).
You can get out of the chamber at any time, although the closer you can stay to three minutes the more benefit. Doors don’t lock and all treatments are fully supervised so you’re completely safe at all times.
We encourage customers to wear light loosing fitting clothes such as sports wear, shorts, tee-shirts. We provide a range of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for you to wear during the WBC session such as beanie, ear muffs, gloves, face mask, and non-slip shoes, so you don’t need to bring a thing.
It is recommended to not workout at least 1 hour before treatment. This is firstly because customers must be completely dry, and have no sweat or dampness anywhere on the body when entering the WBC. Secondly, WBC treatment effects can compromise training gains by too quickly facilitating recovery.
If you exercise before WBC, you will experience increased energy and greater recovery due to the reduction in inflammation.
If you exercise after WBC, you will experience higher pain tolerance, more energy, and increased performance.
Localized cryotherapy is strictly used for pain relief/reduction of inflammation in one specific area of the body such as the lower back, shoulder, knee, etc. As the name suggests, whole body cryotherapy treats the whole body and will be more successful at assisting in the treatment of systemic forms of inflammation.
We also bulk packages of most individual treatment services which will save you money in the long run rather than paying for single sessions. I cannot stress highly enough, the value of these treatments rests in the completion of a course of treatments during which time there is a steady increase in effect. With a yearly, seasonal or monthly subscription, you receive even more significant pricing discounts. Subscriptions are best for customers that struggle with significantly disabling and chronic conditions as well as those customers who recognize the value of utilizing multiple services.
Drink lots of water after Cryotherapy.
No. Cryotherapy may cause some slight discomfort as parts of your body are very cold, but it isn’t painful.
Short term numbness in certain areas of the body, tingling throughout body particularly in lower extremities, pinkish colored legs from the blood re-perfusion in extremities, and occasionally fatigue 3 hours after if your metabolism is poor. Staff with customer support, will ensure no customer enters the WBC chamber with significant moisture on their body or appropriate protective gloves and shoes to eliminate any risks around cold burn and frost bite.
Whole Body Cryotherapy is considered ill advised under certain circumstances and a medical clearance might be required. Other customers suffering with certain medical conditions cannot use WBC.
